Alternative Cremation Services

H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of all families we are privileged to serve.

Though many think funeral directors are only interested in traditional funeral plans, you will find we are first a dedicated servant of your family and community. We can provide the services you may need. We have added specialty cremation service arrangements because so many are requesting them.

Kentucky requires a licensed funeral director to oversee any kind of death care, therefore, we will work with you in your planning and be able to answer any issues of arrangement you may have.

There are various levels of service. The basic level will include documentation, transportation of the deceased, the cremation itself, remains delivery and releases. Beyond the basic services, we can provide additional amenities, similar to those in a traditional funeral service.

Standard Traditional Cremation Service

Day and evening visitation at the funeral home
Next-day funeral ceremony at the funeral home or church with cremation following (includes preparation, all staff services, facilities, automotive equipment and printed memorial items.

Same-Day Gathering and Memorial Service Following Cremation

Single-day period of gathering at the funeral home, followed by a memorial ceremony (includes basic care, all staff services, facilities, vehicles, crematory fee and printed memorial items.

Immediate Burial and Direct Cremation

These services do not involve visitation and ceremonies, but include local removal, basic care, transportation to cemetery, or crematory services, necessary staff services and required authorizations.

Direct Cremation Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; transportation to crematory; necessary authorizations; and cremation if relevant. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering).	$1,250.00
Immediate Burial Our charge for an immediate burial (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; and local transportation to the cemetery.	$1,250.00
Embalming Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.	$525.00

Forwarding of Remains to another Funeral Home Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; embalming; or other preparation of remains, if relevant; and local transportation.	$1,775.00
Receiving of Remains from another Funeral Home Our charge includes: basic services of the funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; care of remains; transportation of remains to funeral home and to cemetery or crematory.	$1,775.00
