Laura Holt

Laura, 36 years of age, died Peacefully in Baptist Hospital, Pensacola, FL on September 15, 2024 in the ICU following a cardiac episode on September 10th. She had dealt with multiple medical issues for many years that culminated in her death. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Jamey Antle Holt, Grandparents Richard & Lorena Holt, Byron & Judy McKinley Sizemore, and James Antle. She is survived by her Father Kenny (Ray) Holt and his partner Mark McLeod, a daughter who was adopted by Kenny & Mark (Popka & RooRoo) - Raider RayneByrd Holt-McLeod, a brother Korey Holt, her Fiancé and Family Caregiver Chris Byrd, all of Pensacola, FL. Uncle & Aunt Rick & Mel Holt of Eli / Russell Springs, KY, Aunt & Uncle Ronda & Tony Salyer of Jamestown, KY, Great Aunt Kathy McKinley Goodin, Miller Fields / Columbia, KY, and a host of cousins and other relatives throughout Kentucky and the United States. She was born in Orlando, FL and lived in several locations along the East Coast including South Carolina and Connecticut with her Father's U.S. Navy career. Resided in Pensacola since 1996. She enjoyed visiting Kentucky at times and staying with relatives and all that those visits offered - on the lake, on a farm, in the woods. She volunteered as a teenager making a difference in other children's lives through the YMCA in Pensacola, FL as well as for & with the Elderly via Council on Aging of West Florida in Pensacola. She was nominated for and selected to the National Who's Who in America while in High School. ********* The following was written for her LifeQuest Donation - From our first breath to our last, each of us creates a unique story with our lives! Today we Honor Laura Rene' Holt. Her Family is overjoyed that she can help so many others in her death. We can look for the pain, we can look for the loss, we can look....... for the unbearable. Or we can see the Beauty, the Grace, the Miracles! And even if we choose to see the happy, we still must Honor the pain. It is real. It Honors the person lost, but also allows us to Honor the Gifts..... God had a plan! We prayed if she couldn't be saved for Him to take her peacefully. That was selfish on our part! God had a different plan * to bless hundreds of others through Laura! ********* We Pray for Laura's soul and Christ's Forgiving Love! She was Baptized as an infant and later accepted that Baptism and Christ's Sacrifice. We Honor Laura in her life saving gifts! We her Mom & Dad saw her on day 8 & 9 of her life and brought her home with us on day 10! We had been pre-selected for the adoption placement. Wondered why we had not been notified of her birth before her 8th day. She had some medical issues & her birth mother was afraid we wouldn't want her. We made it clear.... "She is ours how ever God delivered her!" The first time she was placed into our arms, actually before and even before we saw her and before her birth......she was wholly ours! Prayed for and prayers answered ours! That carried through in her life - our child no matter what! 💚 A memorial service will be held in Pensacola on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2pm at Hilton Garden Inn Airport / Medical Center, 1144 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504. Reception following at the hotel. Rev. Brandon Bures, First United Methodist Church Pensacola Officiating & Presenting the Eulogy. Laura will be buried in Kentucky at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery, 3944 Hwy 92, Russell Springs, KY 42642 with Graveside Services at 11 am on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 Laura's aunt and uncle Ronda and Tony Salyer will be officiating. Services arranged through H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, Jamestown, KY. She will be buried beside her Mother Jamey Antle Holt, and behind her Holt Grandparents, Great Grandparents, and Great Great Grandparents, and surrounded by other relatives and loved ones! Family & Friends will gather following services at Esto Country Store and Restaurant at Holt Crossroads at 4624 KY Hwy 379 (Hale's Hwy), Russell Springs, KY 42642. Menu ordering.
